Just months after leaving Kumasi Asante Kotoko as Head Coach of the club, Zdravko Logarusic has led Sudan to win bronze at the Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) tournament in Morocco.

The Croatian guided the North Africans to a third place finish in the competition after they defeated Libya 4-2 on penalties.

Logarusic was appointed head Coach of the Sudan National team after he was sacked by the Porcupine Warriors.

Ghana's Habib Ahmed missed out on winning the World Boxing Organization - WBO Super middleweight title following a sixth-round knockout defeat to defending champion Gilberto Ramirez at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Ahmed, 27, (25-1-1, 17 KOs) making his United States debut, failed to impress as he was thoroughly beaten by the Mexican, who retained his belt for the third time.

Ramirez spent five-plus rounds mostly battering his overmatched opponent before Ahmed’s trainer mercifully made referee Laurence Cole stop what had become a brutal beating in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter, currently serving a ban from the sport, is considering legal action against the global football body in an attempt to clear his name.

Blatter, who led FIFA for 17 years, was handed a six-year ban for ethics violations, imposed amid the biggest corruption scandal to shake world soccer’s governing body in 2015.

The 81-year-old Swiss said that while “for the time being there is no legal action”, he and his lawyers were working on a potential case.

French referee banned 6 months for kicking player

A referee who aimed a kick at a player then sent him off has been banned for six months, half of which is suspended.

The bout will be the first professional bout outside Ghana for Ahmed since he turned professional in 2011 after the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

For Ramirez the champion, facing Ahmed amounts to his 3rd defence of the title he won in 2016 after defeating then-champion, Arthur Abraham of Germany. Both fighters go into the bout with an undefeated streak in their careers so far.
