Ghana’s coach Kwesi Appiah is confident his depleted squad will pick all three maximum points to against Uganda on Saturday in a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Appiah’s side is now depleted after losing Captain Asamoah Gyan, Thomas Agyepong and Columbus Crew duo Harrison Afful, Jonathan Mensah and Christian Atsu.

The technical handler left out Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan of Swansea City.

South Africa's squad members have been made to sign a code of conduct upon arrival at their training camp for Saturday's World Cup qualifier.

The move is aimed at preventing any repetition of the excessive partying after their last match in Durban. The incidents were widely reported in local media and happened despite Bafana Bafana losing to Cape Verde.

"When we are professional athletes representing our country we don't do that," coach Stuart Baxter said.

"It will be dealt with in house. What does not help are people making up stories that are… hugely inflated and missing the mark completely."

On Friday, the 17th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will kick off, with hosts India making their historic debut in a FIFA competition when they take on USA in New Delhi. The highly anticipated contest will follow the Group A opener between Colombia and two-time champions Ghana.

The opening day also sees action from Group B, as New Zealand take on Turkey, while Chile 2015 runners-up Mali meet Paraguay in Navi Mumbai.
