Kwadwo Poku

Miami FC midfielder Kwadwo Poku will join the Black Stars team for their upcoming friendly matches against USA and Mexico. Poku will join the team’s camp when they arrive in the United States over the weekend.

The former New York City midfielder comes in to replace deputy skipper Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew who will not travel with the team for the matches.

Cape Coast Metro Youth FC logo

Cape Coast based second division side Cape Coast Metro youth FC has unveiled a new club logo as part of rebranding of the club. The club is currently in their third year and hopes to build on their growing reputation in the Central Region.

The logo which is adorned with the club’s colors; red, gold and green and the club’s motto “Nyame Ay3” which translates literally to 'God has done it'.

The Chief Executive Officer of the club Mr. Yaw Sekyere disclosed to the media that the new logo was part of a new phase for the club. He said the club is doing some restructuring to attract investors and sponsors. This he said was necessary to push their players from the grassroots into the professional stream of Ghana football.

Ghanaian international Afriyie Acquah could be joining countryman Christian Atsu at Newcastle United.

The midfielder is reported to have agreed terms with the English side after his team Torino reportedly accepted a bid from the Megbies.

Acquah had a good season at Torino where he scored two goals in 28 appearances for the Club in the Italia Serie A.

Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari

Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan is not worried being described a YOUNG ONE by former international teammate Sulley Muntari adding he respects whatever the former AC Milan midfielder says about him.

Gyan has come under serious criticism after claiming he is an idol of deputy skipper Andre Ayew with fears that such claim could spark fire in the team.

Gyan after the claim was also referred to as a YOUNG ONE by Sulley Muntari.

Asamoah Gyan

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan says even though he has lately been considering retirement, having achieved enough in football, his passion for the game was motivating him not to retire now.

Asked if he was preparing himself mentally for retirement, when he appeared on the Delay television Show on Sunday evening, he said: “Not now.”

He was not definite on the number of years he still wants to play football and said God will determine when he should retire.

He further professed former national team superstar Abede Ayew Pele will die from a strange sickness and needs urgent intercession prayers to save him from the impending death.
