Head coach of Elmina Sharks, Yaw Acheampong has said that the major challenge in Ghana’s premier league is the welfare of the players.
Speaking in an interview, Yaw said players in Ghana do not do well because of the amount of salary they are paid. But this same players do well when they travel to other countries because of the high amount of salary they paid over there.
‘The only thing we are fighting for in our league is the welfare of our players and officiating in the league’, he said.
He added that although situations are difficult in Ghana but the management of the various clubs should do well and increase the payment of the player in the league.
He further stated that, our league level is not down and when comes to Africa, Ghana’s league is ranked as one of the best. But in order to compete with other African countries, we have to pay the players well and also have fare officiating in the league.
