Kwesi Appiah Reveals Egypt Game Was To Help Build Formidable Squad For 2019

Ghana Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah has revealed that the final group game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt was meant to be a buildup exercise for the future.

Egypt held Ghana to a 1-1 draw in Cape Coast on Sunday after Mohammed Sikaballa opened the scoring for the Pharaoh’s on the hour mark before Edwin Gyasi equalized with a brilliant strike three minutes later.

Speaking to the press after the game, head Coach Kwesi Appiah confirmed the game was supposed to be used to build a formidable team for 2019 since they were already out of contention for a place in Russia 2018.
