Elmina Sharks coach Kobina Amissah has heaped praise on his players after their 2-1 win over Berekum Chelsea in the sixth week fixture of the Ghana Premier League at Elmina.
The Sharks took an early lead in the 9th minutes through a header by Joseph Mensah.
Tetteh Nortey doubled the lead of Sharks through a penalty kick in the 30th minute to bag all the tree maximum points.
Berekum Chelsea came into the game very strong in the second half and pulled one back through Anane Justice but could not convert most of the chances they created.
Speaking after the match the head coach of Elmina Sharks said he was pleased with his team’s performance.
“It was a very difficult game, my team played very well and I am impressed, they fought very hard to get the win”.
Chelsea was my team so the players had wanted to prove to me that they are better than my team” he added.
Coach Amissah further admitted that although he lost control of the second half of the game, his players did well to prevent Chelsea from equalizing.
Elmina Sharks will now face another Brong Ahafo team, Bechem United on Wednesday at Bechem.
