Ghanaian born Nigerien defender, Kofi Dankwae has said he is proud of his decision to play for Niger.
The robust defender who won the man of the match award for the Niger-Burkina Faso game said he has not regretted playing for the Menas of Niger.
Speaking during a post-match interview after the WAFU nations Cup game between Niger and Burkina Faso, Dankwae said he had come to prove his worth for the Nigeriens at the expense of Ghana.
“I will prove myself to the Nigeriens that I am ever ready to work with them” he said.
He added that, “I am not here to show my defending prowess to Ghanaians but to show my love for the Menas”. According the player, his decision was made nine years ago and he has not regretted opting to play for Niger over Ghana.
Kofi Dankwae who plays for Niger’s first division league side ES Narzis has been instrumental in the CHAN qualification aiding Niger with some of the needed victories.
