Women’s Football vice chairperson calls for support

The deputy chairperson of Women’s football in Ghana, Madam Rosaline Amo has solicited massive support from all Ghanaians to make the game their priority that will help develop the feminine sport in Ghana.

The ace Sports journalist says Women’s sports in Ghana especially fooball has been surprisingly neglected due to males’ sports and indifferent attitude of Ghanaian media to promote it.

She highlighted that the GFA is doing their possible best to raise the standard but their effort is not enough to harness the sports talents in the country.

Roseline Amo called on cooperate bodies, journalists, institutions and all individuals to put their shoulders in the wheel so that women’s sports in Ghana will be palatable to attract investors as well as stimulating the interest of the people in the country.

In an interview with Akosua Akyeabea Sackey of Cape Coast based ATL FM on the World Women’s day sports show, the renowned press lady reiterated that there are so many sports ladies in Ghana whose talents are going waste because of inadequate support and total neglect of women’s sports especially football in the nation.

“Women’s sports in Ghana have been neglected by Ghanaians because their focus is on the male sports and also journalists are reluctant to promote it which is very dangerous to the development of women’s sports talents in Ghana.

“So I’m appealing to all Ghanaians to give rapt attention to women’s sports so that Ghana sports as a whole will chalk success both locally and internationally’’.

Ghana is expected to revamp her lost glory in the arena of women’s sports through restricting of our sports system.
