Head coach of Ashanti Gold SC Charles Kwablah Akunnor has stated emphatically that in other to avoid relegation, he needs the full support and focus of the team's supporters to help avoid relegation.

The coach who was awarded the 'Nasco Coach' of the month of June, took the opportunity to tell the teams supporters to keep calm and support the team with all their strength because it has ten matches to go in the Ghana Premier League [GPL] and until is over, they are capable of avoiding relegation.

Ghana have fallen yet again, this time by a place, on the latest Fifa World Ranking released on Thursday.

July’s ranking sees Ghana on the 50th position with an accompanying decrease in total accumulated points from 678 to 665, having earlier dropped by four positions in June’s release.

Joseph Agbeko

President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Peter Zwennes has described two-time former bantamweight world champion Joseph Agbeko as a fraudulent boxer.

His comments come after Agbeko’s bout against Kenya’s Nick Otieno was called off last week due to some challenges in his opponent’s camp.

But Zwennes has revealed that the Ghana boxing Authority did not sanction the bout between Agbeko and Otieko.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Elvis Adjei Baah has stated that changes made at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) is the reason behind the delay in paying Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.

Appiah and his entire technical staff are yet to receive their salaries after assuming office three months ago.

Twenty-five (25) players have been invited into the National U-17 team with camping set to begin on 3rd July, 2017.

The Black Starlets are set to commence preparations for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted by India from October 5-28, 2017.

Most of the players who have been invited for Monday’s camping were part of the squad that qualified Ghana to the World Cup after placing second at the African U-17 Championship in Gabon earlier this year.
