Head Coach of the Black Stars of Ghana James Kwesi Appiah has disclosed to the media that given the permission, he will help the two Ghanaian teams partaking in the Africa competitions; the CAF Champion league and the Confederation cup.

Chairman of GN Bank, Dr. Papa Kwasi Ndoum says his company pulled out of sponsoring the Division One League in order to become the headline sponsors of the Women’s League.

GN Bank recently announced its intent not to renew its sponsorship agreement with the Ghana FA for the Division One League. This has heightened financial burden of club owners in the second-tier league as majority of the proceeds from the GN Bank sponsorship was used to heavily subsidise officiating fees for example.

Clubs are now being asked to pay a minimum of GHc30,000 as officiating fee in the coming season as a result of the GN Bank’s decision to no longer sponsor the league.

Ex-Bayern Munich star Samuel Osei Kuffour won a lot of admiration when he passed up the honour of unveiling the 2017 African Footballer of the Year to legend Ibrahim Sunday.

Samuel Kuffour was selected to represent Ghanaian football legends at Monday's ceremony in Accra but he declined and pleaded with the organizers to allow Ibrahim Sunday, a 1971 African footballer of the Year, to unveil the final three-man shortlist.

This he revealed at the just ended Ghana Football Coaches Association Congress.

Teams in Ghana lack branding which have made it difficult for cooperate bodies to come on board to sponsor them.
