Ghanaian students in Turkey held a grand celebration for legendary Ghana Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan on the occasion of his 32nd birthday.

The students numbering about thirty [30] held a picnic on campus at the Firat University, Elazig Turkey to celebrate the achievement of the former Sunderland striker who turned 32 on Wednesday 22nd November this year.

They were joined by many Turkish and other nationals to celebrate the iconic Ghana captain who is Africa’s all time goal scorer at the FIFA World Cup with 6 goals, an achievement Cristiano Ronbaldo and Leonel Messi are sweating to equal.

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), has said there is very little they can do to prevent athlete Martha Bissah from switching nationality as she has threatened the Association to do so, beside serving an indefinite suspension from the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) after failing to substantiate bribery allegation against the executive of the association.

The Youth Olympics gold medalist has been handed a long-term ban by the GAA earlier in 2016, preventing her from competing in any event under the Ghanaian flag and reports indicates that, Bissah is contemplating on switching nationality if the ban is not lifted.

The suspension comes as a result of Martha’s consistent accusations in the media of the GAA demanding GHC7,000 from her to be offered the scholarship which she gained after winning the first Gold medal at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has expanded the annual off season tournament to include eight {8} clubs and this will include the newly promoted premier leagues clubs as a preparation ahead of the 2018 premier league campaign. This was revealed yesterday at GHALCA's general assembly meeting held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The tournament will constitute four teams of the last season top 4 premier leagues clubs, the winner the MTN FA cup and the three promoted clubs from the Division One league. So for this instance, the tournament could pitch the likes of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who won the MTN FA Cup, Aduana Stars, WAFA SC, Accra Hearts of Oak and Wa All Stars teaming up against Karela United , Dreams FC, and Eleven Wonderers.

Speaking to the media yesterday, the Chairman of GHALCA Cudjoe Fiano said, they have increased their budget of hundred thousand Ghana Cedis sponsorship of Star Times to hundred thousand U.S Dollars as compared to last year. With this (Hundred Thousand Dollars), GHALCA can easily organized the G-8 and the Presidents Cup.

The Chief Executive Officer of GN Bank Issah Adams has confirmed that his outfit will not renew their contract as the headline sponsor of the Ghana Division One League (DOL).

The Bank's three-year sponsorship deal ended this season and many are of the view that owner of the bank, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom’s recent criticism of the Ghana Football Association(GFA) led to their decision not to renew their relationship.  

But Mr. Adams disagrees, he insists their strategy as a bank has changed.
