In order to help ensure that people understand the ideals of social democracy, the main opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set up a political training institute, named the “Ghana Institute of Social Democracy.”

The school will orient Ghanaians particularly NDC faithfuls on the philosophies of the party.

Speaking at the launch on Thursday, the general secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketsiah said that the party saw the need to establish a well-structured educational training and research institution based on the party’s ideological and philosophical stance.

He added, the school is envisioned to sensitize members and appointees on the party’s ideology. Mr Asiedu hoped that the institution would become an institution of choice in the study of politics, governance and social democracy.

He added that the party is challenged with equipping activists with requisite skills hence, the establishment of the school will help provide continuing education for its members, help with the identification and monitoring of new talents, conduct research and analysis among others.
