Donald Trump was on his way to an important event when his motorcade was stopped by the bizarre sight of three nude women.

Three topless protesters have been arrested for trying to disrupt President Trump’s motorcade as it made its way through Paris.

French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said the controversial US President’s security had “in no way been threatened”.

Trump was in a motorcade making his way alone along the Arc de Triomphe to a lunch with world leaders as part of commemorations for the end of World War I.

Three topless protesters with anti-war slogans on their chests attempted to get through the rows of security, but were quickly bundled away by police.

But one topless woman made it among the heavily armoured vehicles as they drove along Champs Elysees avenue. She walked amid the vehicles, flaunting the slogans written on her chest that included the words “Fake” and “Peace.” She shouted “fake peacemaker” as the cars passed.

Police tackled the woman and the motorcade, carrying only Trump, continued uninterrupted.

Most of the other leaders travelled together, from the Elysee Palace.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders cited security protocols for the presidential motorcade’s solo trip down the grand flag-lined avenue, which was closed to traffic.

Trump had snubbed the Peace Forum, instead visiting a military cemetery in the Paris suburbs, a day after coming under heavy fire for cancelling a similar trip due to rain.

But he had found time to shake hands with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin’s staff said the pair had had a “brief but positive” conversation during centenary events.

At least one other topless protester also made it into the avenue, but was unable to reach the cars. A third reportedly was unable to make it past security barriers.

The feminist activist group Femen has claimed responsibility. Femen’s topless protesters have repeatedly breached security around world leaders and major events.

French authorities said the three women faced charges of sexual exhibitionism.

Around 1500 anti-Trump protesters held a demonstration at Republique square in eastern Paris, at which the giant “Baby Blimp” balloon depicting Trump as an infant was flown, following previous appearances in London and New York.

“Mr Hate, Leave Europe,” read one banner at the protest.

It’s not the first time Femen has targeted Trump.

Shortly after the 2016 presidential campaign, a Femen protester sought to highlight Trump’s sexual indiscretions. The topless Femen activist grabbed the crotch of a wax statue of the President-elect at the Wax Museum of Madrid.
