Popular food joint in Cape Coast razed down by fire [Photos]

A popular food joint in Cape Coast was engulfed in flames Thursday evening after a gas cylinder caught fire.

ATL FM News’ reporter, Aba Aikins indicates properties and money were destroyed in the blaze with no casualty.

Medallion Pizza, which is located within the Mfantsipim Junction enclave, caught fire and spread to adjoining shops which include a boutique, an arts shop, a chop bar and another eatery.

Items destroyed by the fire include three flat screen television sets, fridges, a projector and sales made for the day.

Eye witnesses who spoke to ATL FM news indicated they were alerted by the thick smoke and flames that erupted from the joint. One said they attempted to quench the fire with water to salvage some property before the Fire Service arrived. Though the response by the Fire Service was swift, the Food joint was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is not readily known though investigations have commenced.
