The Board Chair of the Campus Broadcasting Services (CBS) of University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof Peter Kojo Grant has called on Members of the Campus Broadcasting Association of Ghana (C-BAG) to build a formidable force aimed at advancing the cause of the association.

Prof. Grant was speaking at a meeting organised by members of C-BAG on Wednesday at the University of Cape Coast to deliberate on issues affecting the association and draw a road-map on the way forward.

Professor Grant urged members of the association to work hard by carving a niche which will distinguish them from other media outlets.

“I think we should look at a way of building up the various broadcasting units on the various campuses to ensure that we have a very strong cohesive force which can also break news and not just be tied to the so called commercial entities. You should have particular programs that you are very certain that anywhere you go people are listening to them. That takes a while to achieve but once the people get in line with you, they will stick.”

Commending the efforts of the association, Prof Grant said C-BAG must widen its membership by encouraging other campus stations which are yet not members to join.

“You have done marvelously well looking at the fact that you set up this association in 2012 and already you’re being incorporated. That also affords you the protection under the rules of Ghana and our constitution. I urge that you reach out to others who might not even know about the existence of C-BAG so that they come on board. Once they note the advantages inherent in belonging to such an association, they will certainly agree to be part of this wonderful association.”
