The Head of Department of French at the University of Cape Coast [UCC], Dr Mawuloe Koffi Kodah, has pointed that learning French in the University of Cape Coast is the best way of preparing oneself for the job market.
He says even though unemployment is on ascendancy, students from the department of French over the years are able to secure themselves key employment opportunities on the job market.
According to Dr Kofi Kodah French is not just a language but also a skill that propels individuals in their daily life. He was speaking to ATL FM News on the side lines of an annual students and staff consultative meeting of the department.
The meeting is an annual event which comes off every year to foster a healthy relationship between the staff and the students. This year’s event saw an encouraging patronage by staff and students from level 100 to level 800.
Dr Kodah says Ghanaians should consider Ghana’s location as an opportunity and take the learning of French at heart.
Students took advantage to ask questions which the Head responded accordingly. He advised French teachers in the country, to vary their methods of teaching in order to make learning of French interesting.
