A Lecturer at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology of the University of Cape Coast [UCC], Dr. Brempong Osei-Tutu has questioned society why the act of cooking has become the responsibility of the woman and left the man out of this shared responsibility.
In an exclusive interview with ATL FM NEWS, Dr. Brempong stated that food is paramount to our health and should not be left in the hands of the woman alone but must involve the man.
He explains that society should start to correct the errors of yesterday by ensuring that the male child is adequately equipped with this essential skill of cooking and managing domestic affairs.
Commenting on the same issue, Madam Naa Adjeley Suta Alakija Sekyi at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology of the University of Cape Coast, said there should be no boundary should be set in the home for males and females regarding domestic chores, especially cooking.
