The Department of Human Resource Management: School of Business of University of Cape Coast [UCC] has signed a Memorandum of Understanding [MoU] with the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana.
The institution whose mission is to advance the practice of Human Resource in Ghana has a function to certify students to be Human resource practitioners, provide continuing professional education for its participants and give Human Resource solutions where needed.
Addressing heads, lecturers and students of the School of Business at the meeting on Tuesday, the executive director of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners in Ghana, Ebenezer O. Agbettor said though they have had similar collaboration with other institutions, the MoU between the two parties is unique in its format.
He revealed the MoU includes providing a human resource learning centre at the university as well as a research area to enable participants have easy access to professional programs offered by the institution.
The Provost of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies, Prof. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh who was present at the meeting applauded the move and said the signing of the memorandum was good for the University and the department.
She added the collaboration shows that the university is ready to work with partners who will support them to do their work well.
The vice dean of the School of business and chairperson of the memorandum meeting, Dr Siaw Frimpong in an interaction with ATL FM News expressed the need to sell the program to students, as it will enable them fit into the job market after school.
