Instructional periods at the Christ Church Anglican Basic School at Adisadel in Cape Coast were suspended as rains in the early hours of Friday flooded some classrooms. The ground classrooms of the one-storey school structure were quickly evacuated as water gushed into them.
According to ATL FM’s reporter, Joseph Kobina Amuah who visited the school, teachers struggled to make their way around the school compound and pupils were seen packed into classrooms on the top floor with others standing on the main stair way and corridors.
Pupils who had just reported to school had to wade through the flood to make their way to the upper floor of the school building.
