Speaking to ATL FM News at the event last Saturday, he noted that the foundation recognizes the difficulties some single parents go through in raising their wards and therefore found it appropriate to offer their contributions in any small way to support them.
“We have observed that in our nation, there are different groups of people. Some happen to be single parents and the burden of the upkeep of their children has now turned to them. We realized that a group like that sometimes find it very difficult to take care of certain things on their own so City of Love has taken it upon itself to support them in the area of education, health and socialization”.
Describing the outreach programme as successful, Rev. Koomson seized the opportunity to appeal to the public for support in order to extend their services to other communities.
“We have members of the group who are not gainfully employed; some of them do not even have money for their personal upkeep...we need benevolent people and philanthropists to assist us take care of the people in our area especially, Cape Coast North”.
