The Students’ Support Centre of University of Cape Coast [UCC] was on Wednesday inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah. The centre is an extension of the Office of the Dean of Students and it is located at the Amissah Arthur Language Centre.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Vice Chancellor indicated that the centre would assist students easily access services provided by the university.

The Vice Chancellor of University of Cape Coast [UCC], Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has expressed the need for industries to take keen interest in the open day events organised by the University.

The event affords various Colleges/Faculties, Departments and non-academic sections of the university to showcase research works, discoveries as well as projects undertaken to the general public.

The day is also used as an opportunity for second cycle institutions to inquire more about the academic programmes of the university.


The University of Cape Coast is today holding its 2017 Open Day at the fore court of the Sam Jonah Library.

The Ford Foundation in New York and the Youth Empowerment Synergy (YES) in close connection with the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD – Ghana) has provided USD $ 150,000 towards an 18- month pilot project dubbed ‘Youth Leadership for Social Change’.

The project targets providing fifty [50] young people from two [2] public universities with improved knowledge and skills needed for effective social change leadership by August, 2018.
