The Assin Fosu District Court has sentenced to a year imprisonment with hard labour, Edward Boafo, the father who burnt the soles of the feet of his 5-year old son.

The little boy was accused by his 33-year-old father of eating stew meant for the family.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Gilbert Ayongo told the court presided over his worship Samuel Djanie Kotey that on Thursday 14th February, 2019, Mr. Boafo returned from work to realise that stew meant for the entire family’s meal had been consumed.

The father suspected his five-year-old son as the culprit but the little boy denied the accusation.

The prosecutor said Boafo who became infuriated with his son for telling lies decided to compel the boy to tell the truth by hovering his feet over fire resulting in the soles of the boy’s feet getting burnt.
