In its bid to improve the economic gains of the central region, the Central Regional Development Commission (CEDECOM) has facilitated a consultative meeting between the Central Regional House of Chiefs and the Central Regional Caucus of Members of Parliament.
The Acting Executive Director of CEDECOM, Mr. Spencer Taylor believes this move will bring together the chiefs and members of Parliament to fashion out means of pursuing the development agenda of the region and also ensure it becomes investor friendly.
Again he noted that the meeting will enable these actors contribute duly towards the pending international Investment conference scheduled for 27th May to 30th May, 2019.
On his part, President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI lauded the commission’s efforts and suggesting lucrative fields to be ventured into said the traditional authorities are willing to make places of interest within their traditional areas available to improve upon them and attract more tourists to the region. He appealed to the MPs to cooperate with the ministry of tourism and other agencies to focus on industries especially in the region.
The MP for Assin Central and chairman for the Central Regional Caucus for Members of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong supported data collection for the conference scheduled for May this year with GHS 200, 000.
