The honourable Central Regional Minister, Mr. Kwamena Duncan has charged all metropolitan, municipal and District chief executives to ensure that good sanitation is maintained within the region especially when it is regarded as Ghana’s education haven.
Towards achieving this, he has indicated that a sanitation exercise along the major roads which lead into the region will be held come Friday, March 22.
Mr. Duncan made the call at a regional Coordinating Council Meeting held last Friday.
He said the spate of insanitary practices within the region and especially along the major roads do not send good message about the region for which such an immediate step is being taken.
Mr. Duncan, since assuming the role as regional minister, has continuously made efforts towards correcting the negative narratives about the region especially in sanitation. He has projected that by the close of this year, the region will attain an open defecation free (ODF) status.
